May Writing Meme Day 1
May. 1st, 2011 09:50 am1. Why do you write?
I'm not really sure why, exactly, I like writing so much. It's just something I've always done, ever since kindergarten. Ideas come to me, and I write them down and try to parse them into a cohesive story. Usually, I don't finish - and sometimes I wonder why I still even try, because I've never finished anything that isn't a oneshot of a few thousand words. But the rush of creative energy, the thrill of having a good idea and brainstorming over it and fleshing out a whole storyline in my mind even before I pull out a pencil and paper, the excitement of starting a new project and promising myself "This time, I will finish it!" is all, I think, part of why I write.
And maybe, some day, I'll actually finish something.
